A superior early example of Maria's pottery with strong painting from Julian. The polish is very sharp and reflective, almost a gun metal. Condition grade 8-9 which is very high for this early period of her work.
The signature was inscribed by Clara Montoya, Maria's sister who, for a few years signed Maria's pottery for her. The circle over the I was a Clara trait.
